Very Large Stoneware Moon Jar in Creamy White
The Moon and its phases influence all nature, its growing cycles , tides and the ebb and glow of life.
This is a large stoneware Moon, thrown in two halves traditionally, finished in a flowing satin creamy white glaze..
It is my homage to the lovely form, originated by Korean artisans in the 13th to the 18th Century and is so called because of it’s luna fullness.
I aimed at the easy flow in their technique which embraces naturally occurring imperfections..
It’s the simplest and most striking vase form, for any flower arrangement but the scale of it makes it a focal point in any room, even without flowers.
25cm width x 23cm height
This vessel is hand thrown, turned, glazed and fired to 1240 degrees in oxidation and is one of a kind
